The festival letting fans follow in the footsteps of the Peaky Blinders

Thousands of Peaky Blinders fans in flat caps and flapper dresses came together at the TV drama's first official themed festival, where the attractions ranged from ballet to boxing.
A stone's throw from the street where the real Peaky Blinders' first crime was recorded 130 years ago, the gang returned to reclaim their turf - crowds of them, many dressed in the uniform of suits and peaked caps, or tassled party dresses and feathered headbands.
Thanks to the hit TV series inspired by the original Birmingham mobsters, it's no longer a gang. It's a tribe.
The show's creator Steven Knight said: "I spoke to a woman who said she'd come from LA. For the day. That is commitment.
"Somebody else just showed me their leg, which was covered in Peaky Blinders character tattoos. It's very humbling and gratifying that it's had this effect on people."
Kate Phillips, who plays Linda Shelby, was also at the event in Birmingham. "There's something about this visual style of the show that ignites people's excitement, and it's something that they themselves can participate in," she said.
"You can get involved. You can get the haircut, you can wear the shirt, you can feel like a Peaky Blinder. And the show itself is so atmospheric and so cool that you kind of want to be a part of it."
The 15,000 or so devoted fans at the Legitimate Peaky Blinders Festival on Saturday have, like millions of viewers, been intoxicated by the mix of morally ambiguous mob drama, sepia atmosphere, sharp fashion and gritty modern music. The festival, which ends on Sunday, tried to cater for all of that - a curious cross between a cosplay convention, historical re-enactment and hip urban music festival.
Singer Anna Calvi, who wrote the score for the current fifth season, said everyone was united by their love of the show.
"I really like the idea that any two strangers can start talking and have this thing in common, be excited for the same reason. I guess it's like going to see a football match or something," she said. "I think that's really sweet."

Scarlett Johansson 'would work with Woody Allen 'any time'

Scarlett Johansson has spoken out in support of Woody Allen, saying she "loved" the film-maker and "believed" he is innocent of abuse accusations.
"I see Woody whenever I can, and I have had a lot of conversations with him about it. He maintains his innocence, and I believe him." the Avengers star told the Hollywood Reporter .
Allen has been accused by his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow of molesting her, allegations first made in 1992.
The director denies the claims.
Johansson has worked with Allen on the films Match Point, Scoop and Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

Her defence of the film-maker is in contrast to stars who have distanced themselves from him, such as Greta GerwigColin Firth and Mira Sorvino, who said they regret having worked with Allen.
Timothee Chalamet and Rebecca Hall both said last year they would donate their wages from working with him to charity.
However Allen has received support from the actress Diane Keaton, who won an Oscar for her role in his 1977 film Annie Hall.
Allen's son Moses has also disputed the allegations against his father, claiming his sister was coached by their mother Mia Farrow.
In the interview, Johansson continued: "I have been very direct with him, and he's very direct with me."
The actress acknowledged it was "hard" to express her support of Allen in the post-#MeToo climate.
"It's a time where people are very fired up, and understandably," she added.
"Things needed to be stirred up, and so people have a lot of passion and a lot of strong feelings and are angry, and rightfully so. It's an intense time."
Allen has previously called the allegations against him "baseless" and has never been charged in relation to any accusations made.
As well as losing the backing of some actors, Allen has felt a backlash from film industry bodies.

Allen has since been unable to find a US distributor for his movies, which is currently affecting his most recent production A Rainy Day in New York, which is yet to secure US or UK distributors.
Allen is however now working on a film called Rivkin's Festival starring Christoph Waltz and Gina Gershon.
